GULF STATES BIO AND AGRICULTURAL
CONSORTIUM
More than two dozen academic partners of the Gulf States Bio and
Agro- Defense Consortium met on June 27 at the Greater Jackson
Chamber Partnership conference room to bolster Mississippi’s bid
to secure the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF).
Representatives of seven Mississippi institutions participated
in the meeting: Alcorn State University, Jackson State
University, Mississippi State University, Mississippi Valley
State University, Tougaloo College, the University of
Mississippi, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Pictured above are representatives from Mississippi’s NBAF
effort is being supported by several leading national
institutions including Tulane University, Iowa State University
and Battelle. Battelle is an international science and
technology enterprise that manages eight laboratories and
explores emerging areas of science as well as develops and
commercializes technology.
